Collect a few labels showing nutritional information off food packages and bring in for the class where we will be examining and analysing the information given. Remember to only take labels from empty packets or tins as you will not be popular if you turn your food press into a shambles of unidentifiable containers.
Add a blog to your website and then make a comment on you first half term's work. i.e. What you enjoyed.. what was exciting.. what you found difficult. Then, using a few of the reflection stems below as prompts, make a comment or two about your learning. Enjoy the mid-term break. As part of our work on food and a healthy diet you are asked to take any 24hr period between now and next Thursday and record all the food and drink you consume during that time period. If you want to be more scientific about your record you might consider adding the time you had each item.
Extension work: You have 7 days to complete this.... a week's diary, (or part thereof), would give you more information than just one day. Carefully cut out the bones of your jumbled skeleton and rearrange them so that they fit back together properly. Glue them down onto a piece of paper and then identify and label the following: skull, vertebral column (spine or backbone), collar bone, scapula (shoulder blade), sternum (breastbone), humerus, radius, ulna, pelvis, femur, patella (knee cap), tibia and fibula. Learn the location and names of these bones as well. If you are stuck then check out page 52 of your text
Cut out and reorganise the safety jigsaw puzzle so that the words and phrases match. Good luck !
