Welcome to Dr Clarke's Support Pages for Junior Certificate Science
You, my students, use information technology much more freely, frequently and confidently than previous generations.
You run apps on your smart phones, 'google' information, watch podcasts on 'YouTube', download music to 'Itunes' or catch up on missed TV programs on your computers for example.
With that in mind, I created this site in an attempt to provide materials that support your learning in a manner that matches the way you most frequently access information.
Books still have their place and being able to write legibly is important as well, but so to is the ability use IT effectively.
This is an interactive site that relies on your input to be effective. It is a place to display work that you are proud of from your e-folders.
The Wikis let you complete your group tasks more easily and the blogs are there for reflection and feedback.
You can contact me for help 'out of hours' and exchange information and ideas with your fellow students.
The full three year course is available for you with a variety of support materials as are a number of useful documents that will aid your study or revision.
I hope the site meets your needs but expect you to tell me, or show me, how to make it better if I can.
Most of all, enjoy your learning.
